Wordless Wednesday ~ Four Children in Atlantic City

Here are the four children from last week's family group photograph. This is how I knew last week's photo was taken in Atlantic City.

The front of the rolling chair has an Atlantic City banner across it, and underneath, the name GARRETT.

When I look in the 1910 Atlantic City Directory, I find an entry for:

Garrett William T. (Ida), rolling chairs, h 15 N Delaware ave¹

So it looks like William Garrett ran a business renting chairs to visitors so they could be pushed along the boardwalk. He also appeared to be in the photography business. In 1914 and 1915, I find the W. T. Blue Print Co. at 1208 Atlantic Avenue in the Atlantic City Directories.² An advertisement noted that it offered:

Blue Prints, Blue Line Prints, Black Line Prints & Negatives

So he was able to make money by not only his rolling chairs, but also photography.

Another AZO postcard that dates from 1904 to 1918.³
